Permission- Asking for permission to do things. You essentially do it your entire life but, you do it more when you are a child. When you are a kid you are "controlled" by adults so everything you do has to go through them first. So, in most kids lives you have to ask permission to do something before doing it.

Process- In the article they talk about how play can be helpful in supporting the acquisition of basic skills which can be rehearsed and valued on their own without regard to the finished product. They also talked about standardized testing.

Passion- It's when you are doing something that you really enjoy. When you really enjoy doing something then it is something that you are truly passionate about! When I was a kid I invested myself into playing sports. I invested myself in playing sports because I was passionate about it and I really enjoyed playing.

Productivity- In this they are essentially talking about using your imagination. When you are using your imagination you are out of touch with reality. When you are a kid this is a socially acceptable thing to use your imagination but, it's not socially acceptable when you are an adult. When you are an adult it is thought of as "weird" to use your imagination. This takes me back to when I used to make my own "movies" when I was a kid. I would use my imagination to make them.

Participation- When I played sports I often would watch people in the MLB or NBA and take moves from them so I can utilize those moves I learned from the pros. This is me anticipating future participation as the article said.

Pleasure- This is offering "pleasure" to everyone that participates. You're not offering rewards. Everyone is friendly with each other and encouraging. Backyard sports is a perfect example of this, everyone is happy and nobody cares at the end of the day who wins or loses.
