My Grandfather

My Grandfather has had a tremendous impact on my life since I was born. From countless rides to and from baseball games to five hour long monopoly games, this man has done it all. I can truly say that I wouldn't be half of the person I am today if it wasn't for my hardworking and loving, papa.

The biggest thing I will take away from my Grandfather is "nothing comes easy in life". In other words, nothing is meant to be easy, you have to work hard to achieve your goals. Which is a motto I personally live my life by.

As he gets older I am watching him get slower and slower which is very hard for me to watch. I understand it's a way of life but, it still doesn't make it any easier on me. I'm sure to keep all of the great/funny memories we have together like our trips to Disney, Fenway Park, and me as a child flipping the Monopoly board over after he kicked my butt in a game. 

There's so much more about him to share. I could truthfully write about how good of a man he is for days upon days. But, I'm going to end this with a huge THANK YOU to my papa, Zelio Santos.

    Hi Mike, I like that the biggest thing you took away from your grandfather is "nothing comes easy in life" and I believe that is true

Event #1

Throughout the course of the semester I have attended many on campus events that I haven't had a chance to really talk about. My most recent event was attending a Thanksgiving event for Sojourn Collegiate Ministry. Sojourn is a group I hold close to my heart and have invested a lot of time in growing their brand on campus because I believe in what they do. I attended their Thanksgiving dinner that they host for college students and I had a great time. Throughout my time at the event I got to eat good food, have good laughs, and dance. But, many people didn't recognize the youth working in the background that helped this event really shine. I noticed that there was a group of middle school/high school students that were helping distribute the food in a line. They were volunteering their time and it really showed me how much they cared and wanted to care for other people. This was just something cool that I recognized when I was at the dinner!
